About the Role

The Manager - Government Affairs role at Flex is a critical position that supports the company's government affairs and public policy priorities. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with central government ministries, government agencies, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to advance Flex's policy and business objectives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include policy monitoring, stakeholder engagement, regulatory analysis, and supporting advocacy efforts.

What You Will Do

  • Support engagement with central government ministries, government agencies, and industry associations to advance the company's policy and business priorities
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with government officials, industry bodies, and other external stakeholders
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments, assess potential business implications, and provide timely analysis and updates to internal stakeholders
  • Support the development and execution of government engagement plans, policy advocacy initiatives, and responses to consultations on issues relevant to the business
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather inputs and support policy positions
  • Prepare briefing notes, policy summaries, stakeholder mapping, and materials for leadership engagements with government and industry stakeholders
  • Represent the company in industry association meetings, working groups, and relevant policy forums
  • Support initiatives related to manufacturing, trade, supply chain resilience, sustainability, and other regulatory matters impacting the electronics manufacturing sector

What We Are Looking For

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in government affairs, public policy, corporate affairs, or industry association roles
  • Bachelor's degree required; a postgraduate qualification in public policy, economics, law, international relations, business, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience engaging with central government ministries, regulatory agencies, and industry associations
  • Working knowledge of India's policy and regulatory landscape, with familiarity across manufacturing, industrial policy, trade, supply chain, and investment-related issues
  • Awareness of export control and licensing frameworks, international trade regulations, and supply chain policy considerations
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with government stakeholders, industry associations, and other external partners
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and policy research skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the electronics manufacturing, technology, or industrial sectors
  • Familiarity with policy and regulatory issues related to digital transformation and technology
  • Strong network of contacts in government, industry, and academia
