Job Description

About the Role

The Manager, Organizational Development, plays a critical role in driving business strategy through the design and implementation of organizational development solutions. This involves partnering with business leaders and HR teams to identify gaps between current and desired organizational states, and developing solutions to address these gaps. As an internal consultant, this role requires strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as the ability to manage change impacts and adoption efforts.

The successful candidate will be part of a team that is passionate about driving business results through people and organizational development. They will have the opportunity to work on large-scale organizational design initiatives, as well as lead smaller projects independently. The role involves close collaboration with senior leaders, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders to ensure that organizational development solutions are aligned with business strategy and goals.

The team context is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction. The Manager, Organizational Development, will report to the Senior Manager, Organizational Development, and will have opportunities to develop their skills and expertise through training, mentoring, and coaching.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with business leaders and HR teams to design and implement organizational development solutions aligned to business strategy
  • Gather and analyze data to identify gaps between current and desired organizational states
  • Develop and implement organization design initiatives, including team alignment, discovery, and design of future-state organizations
  • Support benchmarking efforts by comparing organizational health to industry standards and recommending improvements
  • Draft supporting materials, including organizational structures/charts, operating/governance models, and process maps
  • Conduct analysis to understand the desired future state and success metrics, and identify best-fit OD solutions
  • Design and facilitate key events, such as workshops, to support leaders in achieving intentional alignment and planning
  • Conduct change impact assessments and create communication plans and materials to support leadership and associate transitions
  • Coordinate with partner teams, such as learning, communications, compensation, and talent acquisition, to ensure smooth implementation
  • Create draft materials to support adoption of new structures and ways of working, via change integration support, leading workshops, and coordinating learning
  • Follow up on project success metrics post-implementation to ensure optimal adoption and partner with the business and HR Business Partners to make adjustments and plans as appropriate

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in organizational design, internal consulting, or HR strategy roles
  • Proven experience in change initiatives in complex, matrixed environments
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills
  • Experience gathering and synthesizing data to support informed decision-making
  • Master's degree in Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, HR, Business, or related field
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership skills, with ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders and HR Business Partners

Nice to Have

  • Experience with organizational development methodologies and tools, such as PROSCI or similar
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in organizational development and change management
  • Experience working in a retail or similar industry, with understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by organizations in this sector
  • Certification in organizational development, change management, or related field
