About the Role
The Manager, People Operations plays a vital role in delivering a seamless employee experience at KIPP Foundation. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of core HR processes and systems, including payroll, benefits administration, and HR systems. The successful candidate will serve as a central coordinator and problem-solver, providing administrative support to the talent team and acting as a primary point of contact for staff.The Manager, People Operations will work closely with the Senior Director of People Operations to develop and implement efficient processes, manage vendor relationships, and support HR systems. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who takes pride in ensuring that the operational backbone of People Operations is strong, reliable, and continuously improving.
As a key member of the People Operations team, the Manager will be responsible for fostering a positive and supportive work environment, aligned with the organization's mission and values. What You Will Do
- Administer payroll processes in partnership with the Finance team, including compensation updates, stipends, and leave tracking
- Manage day-to-day benefits administration, including enrollments, employee support, and benefits-related queries
- Develop and implement efficient processes for HR systems, including data management and reporting
- Provide administrative support to the talent team, including coordination of recruitment activities and onboarding processes
- Act as a primary point of contact for staff, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters
- Manage vendor relationships, including benefits providers and HR system vendors
- Support the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives and programs
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of People Operations to develop and implement strategic plans for People Operations
- Analyze HR data and metrics to inform decision-making and drive process improvements
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and documentation
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in HR or a related field, with a focus on People Operations or HR administration
- Proven expertise in HR systems, including payroll, benefits administration, and data management
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and drive process improvements
- Experience with Salesforce and Excel, or similar HR systems and software
- A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and supporting a positive employee experience
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment, with a focus on collective impact and courageous action
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the non-profit sector, or a related field
- Certification in HR or a related field, such as SHRM or HRCI
- Experience with project management tools and software, such as Asana or Trello
- Knowledge of employment law and regulatory requirements, including compliance and risk management
