About the Role
The Manager of People Operations plays a critical role in delivering a high-quality employee experience at the KIPP Foundation. This role is responsible for ensuring that day-to-day HR processes and systems run smoothly, efficiently, and with a high level of care for staff. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-driven, with a strong focus on supporting the execution of core HR processes and systems.The KIPP Foundation is committed to building talent systems that are clear, consistent, and supportive of a strong employee experience. The Manager of People Operations will serve as a central coordinator and problem-solver, helping to manage vendor relationships, support HR systems, and act as a primary point of contact for staff. This role will also provide administrative support across the talent team, ensuring that processes are well-executed and information is clear and accessible.

What You Will Do
- Administer payroll processes in partnership with Finance, including compensation updates, stipends, and leave tracking
- Manage day-to-day benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and terminations
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure seamless delivery of HR services
- Provide support for HR systems, including troubleshooting and training
- Act as a primary point of contact for staff, answering questions and resolving issues
- Develop and maintain process documentation to ensure consistency and clarity
- Collaborate with the talent team to support recruitment, onboarding, and employee development
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in HR processes
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in HR or a related field
- Strong knowledge of HR systems, payroll, and benefits administration
- Experience with Salesforce and Excel
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and creatively
- Experience working in a non-profit or education setting (preferred)
Nice to Have
- Experience with HRIS systems, such as Workday or BambooHR
- Knowledge of employment law and regulations, such as ERISA and COBRA
- Certification in HR, such as SHRM-CP or PHR
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
