About the Role

The Manager, Sales Development - Outbound role at Plaid is a critical position that will drive revenue growth and lead a team of sales representatives. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for managing a team of 3-8 new business representatives, overseeing their performance, and ensuring they meet their quotas and key metrics. You will also partner with Marketing and Sales leadership to generate pipeline and unlock business opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in sales, with a minimum of 1 year of team management experience. A strong understanding of the fintech industry and experience selling tech products is also essential. As a leader, you will be expected to recruit, build, and nurture a high-performing team, identifying strong sales talent and coaching them to develop professionally.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a team of 3-8 new business representatives, overseeing their performance and ensuring they meet their quotas and key metrics
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales leadership to generate pipeline and unlock business opportunities
  • Recruit, build, and nurture a high-performing team, identifying strong sales talent and coaching them to develop professionally
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth
  • Analyze sales performance data and provide insights to optimize sales efforts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Product, to drive business outcomes
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the fintech industry and Plaid's products and services
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Provide regular progress updates to Sales leadership and other stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate sales performance risks
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase sales efficiency

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, with a minimum of 1 year of team management experience
  • Experience selling tech products, ideally in the fintech industry
  • Strong understanding of sales principles and practices
  • Experience with Salesforce and other sales tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of sales representatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field
  • Experience with data analysis and sales performance metrics
