Job Description

About the Role

As a Manager of the Sales Division at Medline Industries, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the development and performance of all sales activities within the division. This includes staffing and directing a sales team, setting plans and strategies to expand the customer base, and contributing to the development of training and educational programs for clients and account representatives. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the division towards maximum profitability and growth, aligning with the company's vision and values.

The role involves a high level of interaction with the sales team, ensuring effective communication, understanding training and development needs, and providing insights for improving sales performance. It also requires developing and implementing marketing plans, maintaining sales records, and creating proposal presentations and RFP responses. Your ability to mentor staff, build morale, and ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies will be essential.

In this position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop business plans and sales strategies for the market. This will include initiating and coordinating the development of action plans to penetrate new markets and providing competitive pricing while maintaining maximum profit margins. Your expertise in sales management, combined with your understanding of digital skills and remote work practices, will be invaluable in driving success in this role.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve divisional targets
  • Manage and direct a sales team, focusing on performance improvement and sales growth
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders
  • Create and implement marketing plans to expand the customer base
  • Develop and conduct proposal presentations and RFP responses
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, pricing, and activity reports
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for account representatives
  • Conduct one-on-one reviews with account representatives to enhance communication and performance
  • Develop and mentor staff through onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Build and maintain employee morale and motivation
  • Ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies
  • Travel at least 50% of the time for business purposes, both within and out of state

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • At least 7 years of experience in managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people in a sales management role
  • Experience with enterprise software solutions and large, complex organizations
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Willingness to travel for business purposes
  • Digital skills and experience with remote work practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies
  • Experience in managing complex sales operations and leading high-performing teams
