About the Role
The Manager, Security Engineering & Operations is a pivotal role at Salesloft, responsible for building and leading a world-class team of security analysts and engineers. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in security engineering, operations, and automation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-trust, high-autonomy environment and be capable of defining and implementing a comprehensive security strategy.As a leader in the information security team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a hybrid team of analysts and engineers, providing technical guidance, career development, and performance coaching. The role also involves overseeing the vulnerability management lifecycle, ensuring that scanning, triaging, and remediation efforts are executed with precision.

The Manager, Security Engineering & Operations will be expected to bridge the gap between security engineering and operations, ensuring that preventive and detective controls are in place to safeguard the company's assets.
What You Will Do
- Lead and mentor a team of security analysts and engineers, providing technical guidance and career development
- Oversee the vulnerability management lifecycle, ensuring precise scanning, triaging, and remediation efforts
- Define and implement a comprehensive security strategy, aligning with the company's overall goals
- Bridge the gap between security engineering and operations, ensuring effective preventive and detective controls
- Drive automation and AI mindset, moving the team towards automated detection, response, and remediation
- Serve as the escalation point for incidents, overseeing the design and deployment of the security stack
- Partner with Engineering and Infrastructure to integrate security into the Salesloft architecture
- Translate technical engineering projects and operational risks into business context for executive leadership
- Assist with the team's security operations workload as needed
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in security engineering, operations, or a related field
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing security teams
- Strong technical expertise in security engineering, operations, and automation
- Experience with vulnerability management lifecycles and security frameworks
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into business context
- Strong understanding of security threats, vulnerabilities, and risk management
- Experience with cloud-based security solutions, such as AWS or GCP
- Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH
Nice to Have
- Experience with security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) solutions
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in security
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and Agile methodologies
- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems
