About the Role
The Manager of Software Engineering at iRhythm is a pivotal position that combines technical leadership with team management. Day-to-day, you will oversee a team of engineers, providing architectural guidance across the full stack of mobile applications that support patients using the Zio monitoring device. Your expertise will be crucial in driving operational excellence across a suite of mobile products, both in the US and international markets. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about cardiac health solutions, and has a keen eye for detail and quality.What You Will Do
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across the full stack, including mobile applications, back-end web services, data management, outbound email, and push notifications.
- Recruit, manage, coach, and motivate a team of talented software engineers to achieve project goals.
- Collaborate with product owners and user experience engineers on product features and roadmaps to ensure alignment and feasibility.
- Work closely with technical project managers, software QA, quality engineers, regulatory specialists, and other cross-functional stakeholders to define and predictably execute project plans.
- Drive high standards for software quality, reliability, maintainability, cybersecurity, and compliance in a regulated environment.
- Define and lead deployment efforts to multiple lower environments and production environments with minimal and predictable impacts to users.
- Contribute to documentation required as part of the controlled software development life cycle.
- Support production, including incident response, issue troubleshooting, anomaly root cause and impact analysis, and corrective & preventive actions.
What We Are Looking For
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on mobile application development for iOS and Android.
- Experience leading or managing software engineering teams, with a strong ability to recruit and retain talent.
- 5+ years of experience developing for iOS and Android using Kotlin, with a deep understanding of Java web services.
- Strong experience with AWS, Spring, Hibernate, and MySQL.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions.
- Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud-based data analytics and wearable biosensors.
- Knowledge of powerful proprietary algorithms and their application in cardiac health solutions.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the development of medical devices.
- Certification in software engineering or a related field.
