About the Role
The Manager, Value Based Analytics will play a pivotal role in developing and presenting advanced analysis of clinical, financial, and operational performance, leveraging a wide range of healthcare data sources. This critical role will inform strategic decision-making and action planning across Sanford Health Plan and Sanford Health, with a focus on value-based care and risk-based programs. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare data analytics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.As a key member of the analytics team, the Manager, Value Based Analytics will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for improvement and develop data-driven strategies to enhance performance. This role will require strong leadership skills, with the ability to oversee the development of reports, dashboards, and presentations to track contract performance and identify areas for improvement.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare analytics, with experience working with large datasets, developing predictive models, and communicating complex insights to non-technical stakeholders. A deep understanding of value-based care and risk-based programs is essential, as well as experience working with healthcare data sources, including claims data, clinical data, and operational data.
What You Will Do
- Develop and present advanced analysis of clinical, financial, and operational performance to inform strategic decision-making
- Oversee the development of reports, dashboards, and presentations to track contract performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Analyze benchmark methodologies, trend factors, and attribution logic to support negotiations and strategy development
- Provide analytic support for the design, implementation, and evaluation of new value-based arrangements
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and develop data-driven strategies to enhance performance
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders, to ensure effective communication and collaboration
- Oversee the development of presentations, executive summaries, and board-level reporting on value-based care contracts, programs, and initiatives
- Support team members in their learning and development, with the ability to manage large, complex, simultaneous assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines
- Participate in system workstreams providing the analytics and value-based care perspective
- Collaborate with the Market Business Partner team across Sanford Health to support value-based care analysis and performance improvement
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Seven (7) years of related experience in healthcare analytics, with a focus on value-based care and risk-based programs
- Previous supervisory and/or consulting experience, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams
- Expert knowledge of healthcare claims and claims analytics, clinical quality and quality metrics, clinical coding, care team operations, and analytics tools and techniques
- Experience working with population health management platforms, such as Epic’s Healthy Planet and Value-Based Performance Management module, TruCare, Innovaccer, Arcadia, Lightbeam, or other care management or population health platforms
- Experience working with a variety of healthcare data sources, including claims data, payor revenue/premium data, payor supplemental data, clinical data, including clinical quality metrics (HEDIS) and risk adjustment (HCCs), social determinants of health (SDOH), and operational data and KPIs
- Expert-level experience using data and analytics tools, including SQL, Power BI, or Tableau
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in a related field, with a focus on healthcare analytics or a related discipline
- Experience working with machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling techniques
- Certification in a related field, such as healthcare analytics or data science
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Azure
- Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in healthcare analytics, including artificial intelligence and natural language processing
