About the Role
As a Mandarin Remote Agent, you will play a vital role in facilitating language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community. This is a unique opportunity to work with a variety of clients, including customer service, medical, and other verticals, via audio and video remote interpreting. Your work will have a direct impact on people's lives, helping them navigate complex situations and access essential services.The role of a remote interpreter is both challenging and rewarding. You will need to be able to think on your feet, provide accurate and culturally sensitive interpretations, and maintain the highest standards of professionalism. What You Will Do
- Provide effective audio and video remote interpreting services to clients
- Answer inbound calls in a timely and professional manner
- Perform basic troubleshooting for technical issues
- Provide superior customer service, responding to client needs and concerns
- Adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct, maintaining strict standards of confidentiality
- Complete assigned training and participate in ongoing Quality Assurance monitoring
- Work collaboratively with other interpreters and team members to achieve common goals
- Maintain accurate records and reports, as required
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve service delivery
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of the company's language services
What We Are Looking For
- Full fluency in both English and Mandarin
- Technology proficiency, including web-based platforms, email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
- Experience in interpretation, preferably in a remote setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of cultural sensitivity and awareness
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively
Nice to Have
- Professional interpreting experience, preferably in a medical or customer service setting
- Industry-specific certifications or training, such as CMI or CCHI
- Proof of 40+ hour medical interpreting training, such as Bridging The Gap or Cross-Cultural
- Experience with audio and video remote interpreting platforms
- Knowledge of other languages, in addition to English and Mandarin
