About the Role

The Manufacturing Operator I role at Eaton is a critical position that requires a skilled individual to operate and set up less complex machines, as well as provide support to more complex machines in the production area. As a key member of the manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of machines, while maintaining high-quality standards. Your day-to-day tasks will involve operating automatic and semi-automatic machines, performing quality checks, and maintaining records of production, safety, and quality.

What You Will Do

  • Operate and set up less complex machines in the production area, ensuring efficient and safe operation
  • Provide support to more complex machines, under close supervision
  • Perform quality checks on products, identifying defects or irregularities
  • Maintain accurate records of production, safety, and quality, using digital tools and systems
  • Utilize various hand tools, such as impact wrenches, pneumatic screwdrivers, and drills, to assemble and manufacture electrical equipment
  • Work from models, samples, or diagrams to assemble and manufacture products
  • Follow established procedures for cleaning, quality, and safety, maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Lift up to 35 pounds, with reasonable accommodations as needed
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements and improvements
  • Collaborate with other operators, supervisors, and quality control specialists to ensure seamless production

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for an Associate's degree in a technical field
  • At least 1 year of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or similar field
  • Basic knowledge of digital tools, including email, web pages, and forms
  • Ability to use hand tools, such as drills and impact wrenches
  • Basic understanding of blueprint reading and following procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and quality focus
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
