About the Role

The Marine Interdiction Agent role is a critical component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Air and Marine Operations (AMO). As a Marine Interdiction Agent, you will be part of an elite team of law enforcement professionals responsible for protecting America's national borders and facilitating lawful international trade and travel. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting maritime law enforcement operations, including intercepting and boarding vessels, as well as gathering intelligence to prevent Smuggling and other illicit activities.

The AMO team is a highly specialized unit that requires individuals with a unique blend of skills, including maritime law enforcement, national security, and digital expertise. As a Marine Interdiction Agent, you will be working closely with other law enforcement agencies, such as the U.S. Coast Guard and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, to achieve your mission.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct maritime law enforcement operations, including intercepting and boarding vessels
  • Gather intelligence to prevent smuggling and other illicit activities
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to achieve mission objectives
  • Participate in training and professional development to maintain and improve skills
  • Utilize digital tools and technologies to support law enforcement operations
  • Analyze data and intelligence to identify trends and patterns
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders
  • Participate in joint operations with international partners

What We Are Looking For

  • Merchant Mariner Credentials
  • 1-2 years of experience in law enforcement or a related field
  • Strong understanding of maritime law enforcement and national security
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Willingness to relocate to priority duty locations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance

Nice to Have

  • Experience with digital tools and technologies, such as data analytics software
  • Knowledge of international trade and commerce
  • Familiarity with maritime law and regulations
  • Experience working in a remote or isolated environment
