About the Role
The Marine Interdiction Agent position is a critical component of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's efforts to maintain national security and facilitate lawful international travel and trade. As a member of the Air and Marine Operations (AMO) team, you will be part of an elite group of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America's borders. Your role will involve working closely with other law enforcement agencies to prevent smuggling and other illicit activities.Day-to-day, you will be engaged in maritime law enforcement operations, utilizing your skills and knowledge to interdict and apprehend violators of U.S. laws. This will involve operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, making quick decisions, and working effectively as part of a team. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and disrupting criminal organizations that seek to exploit vulnerabilities in the U.S. border.

What You Will Do
- Conduct maritime patrols and interdiction operations to prevent smuggling and other illicit activities
- Utilize advanced surveillance technologies and digital tools to gather intelligence and track targets
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to share intelligence and best practices
- Develop and maintain relationships with local communities and stakeholders to enhance border security
- Participate in training exercises to maintain and improve your skills and knowledge
- Analyze data and intelligence to identify trends and patterns in criminal activity
- Testify in court as a subject matter expert on maritime law enforcement operations
- Develop and implement effective strategies to counter emerging threats
- Work effectively in a team environment to achieve mission objectives
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, and external stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in border security technologies and trends
What We Are Looking For
- Merchant Mariner Credentials or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience in law enforcement, preferably in a maritime environment
- Strong knowledge of maritime law enforcement operations and procedures
- Proficiency in digital technologies, including surveillance systems and data analysis tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Physical fitness and ability to work in a maritime environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
Nice to Have
- Experience working with other law enforcement agencies or organizations
- Knowledge of foreign languages, particularly Spanish
- Experience with data analysis and intelligence gathering
- Certification in a relevant field, such as law enforcement or maritime operations
