About the Role

The Marketing Consultant, Retail Growth role at Overline is a client-facing position that requires a deep understanding of retail media networks, GTM strategies, and commercial operations. As a key member of the Overline team, you will work closely with CMOs, senior marketers, and their teams to develop and implement comprehensive marketing solutions. Your expertise in retail media networks, including how they are structured, priced, and sold to advertisers, will be invaluable in driving growth and transformation in the retail sector.

The role entails developing clear articulation of how retail media networks must serve brand objectives, such as sales lift, share growth, ROI, and measurement transparency. You will also be responsible for owning defined workstreams across retail media strategy, brand-to-retail alignment, retail GTM modernization, and in-housing and operating model assessments. Your ability to build supporting analyses, financial models, and executive-ready materials will be essential in contributing to roadmap development and value modeling.

What You Will Do

  • Support discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and synthesis to develop structured analyses and opportunity frameworks
  • Translate client inputs into clear articulation of how retail media networks must serve brand objectives
  • Develop and own defined workstreams across retail media strategy, brand-to-retail alignment, retail GTM modernization, and in-housing and operating model assessments
  • Build supporting analyses, financial models, and executive-ready materials to contribute to roadmap development and value modeling
  • Demonstrate understanding of retail media networks, including how they are structured, priced, and sold to advertisers
  • Ensure retail media network strategies reflect real-world retailer and advertiser expectations
  • Support workshop preparation and executive presentations
  • Contribute to proposal development and research for new business
  • Assist in codifying frameworks and reusable retail media assets
  • Contribute to POVs and webinar content to support the elevation of firm positioning in retail marketing strategy

What We Are Looking For

  • 6-10 years of experience in retail media, strategy consulting, commercial strategy, or related roles
  • Experience working within a retail media network, with exposure to how media offerings are commercialized and sold to brands
  • Hands-on experience in retail media execution and/or strategy, not limited to activation
  • Strong understanding of grocery and/or mass retail media networks
  • Exposure to in-store retail dynamics, such as merchandising, store operations, and shopper marketing execution
  • Strong analytical and data and insights synthesizing skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly in executive-ready materials
  • Collaborative and comfortable operating in ambiguity with guidance
  • Experience with major retail media networks, such as Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, or Kroger Precision Marketing
  • CPG or agency experience as complementary background

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with multiple retail media networks or across retailer ecosystems
  • Familiarity with retail media network pricing models and margin considerations
  • Understanding of measurement expectations, such as incrementality, attribution, and closed-loop reporting
  • Experience with investment decision frameworks used by brand and shopper teams
