About the Role
As a Marketing Specialist at Gophermods, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy to drive brand awareness and demand in the K-12 sector. This is a unique opportunity to build a marketing function from the ground up, working closely with the CEO and sales team to align marketing efforts with business objectives. Your day-to-day activities will involve creating and executing marketing campaigns, managing the marketing tech stack, and analyzing performance metrics to inform future strategies.The marketing team at Gophermods is currently non-existent, making this a chance to create a department that will grow alongside the company. You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the sales team to support their efforts in the field. With a clear growth pathway, this role offers the potential to advance to a Marketing Manager position within 12-18 months, based on performance and company growth.
Gophermods is a leading provider of end-to-end technology support in device repair, management, and lifecycle solutions for public sector K-12 schools and small businesses. The company specializes in handling over 50,000 devices annually, including iPads, MacBooks, Chromebooks, iPhones, and Windows laptops. As the company expands its services, the need for a skilled marketing specialist to drive awareness and demand has become a top priority.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness and demand in the K-12 sector
- Build and manage the marketing tech stack, identifying and implementing tools that work well together
- Create and manage a thought leadership content strategy to build credibility and support long sales cycles
- Plan and execute field marketing efforts, including tradeshows and events
- Develop and refine K-12 buyer personas through research, interviews, and collaboration with sales and leadership
- Build and maintain a measurement framework with clear KPIs and regular reporting to the CEO
- Partner closely with the CEO and sales team to align marketing with business goals and revenue targets
- Manage and optimize the marketing budget to ensure maximum ROI
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying this knowledge to inform marketing strategies
What We Are Looking For
- 3-6 years of hands-on marketing experience executing across content, email, social, events, and SEO
- Proven ability to build measurement frameworks and make data-driven decisions using metrics like MQLs, MQL-to-SQL conversion, CAC, and ROAS
- Experience developing buyer personas from direct research and interviews
- Strong background driving tradeshows or events: strategy, materials creation, iteration based on feedback, and follow-up execution
- Generalist SEO knowledge and comfort evaluating and implementing martech tools
- Experience creating thought leadership content and campaigns
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills; confident presenting virtually and representing the brand
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Nice to Have
- Experience with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Familiarity with design tools like Adobe Creative Suite
- Certification in marketing or a related field
- Experience working in the education technology sector
