As a Mathematics Expert, you will play a crucial role in creating original math questions and solutions that test deep conceptual understanding. Your work will contribute to the development of AI research and help shape the future of machine learning. The role is remote, and you will be working with a team of experts in the field.The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include authoring original math questions, ensuring they are unambiguous and precisely defined, and rating their difficulty level. You will also be responsible for providing step-by-step solutions and academic references to support your work. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of graduate-level mathematical concepts and formal proof writing, as well as excellent written English skills.
What You Will Do
- Author original math questions that test deep conceptual understanding
- Ensure questions are unambiguous, self-contained, and precisely defined
- Rate each question's difficulty level: Medium, Hard, or Expert
- Provide 1 correct answer and 9 plausible but subtly incorrect alternatives
- Write step-by-step Chain-of-Thought solutions with clear, concise intermediate steps in markdown format
- Supply 1-5 academic references per question from reputable sources
- Flag issues with clarity, completeness, precision, or solvability in verification tasks
- Justify any edits made
- Collaborate with the team to review and refine math questions and solutions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in mathematics and AI research
What We Are Looking For
- PhD or doctoral candidate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field
- Master's degree considered for candidates with exceptional depth in a specific subdomain
- Strong command of graduate-level mathematical concepts and formal proof writing
- Excellent written English and ability to express complex ideas clearly and concisely
- Experience with rigorous academic problem design or mathematical competition writing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
