About the Role
The MCU Field Specialist role is a critical part of GE Vernova's field services team, responsible for providing technical direction, hands-on service, and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of customer-owned utility and industrial facilities. As a key member of the team, you will be working on-site with customers to ensure seamless integration of GE Vernova's products and services. Your expertise will be invaluable in troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing routine maintenance checkout for a wide range of equipment.The role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. What You Will Do
- Provide on-site technical direction, hands-on service, and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of customer-owned utility and industrial facilities
- Prepare job planning documents, including engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions
- Communicate effectively with management, colleagues, and customers to ensure seamless project execution
- Troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for a wide range of equipment, including power transformers, switchgear, protection relays, control systems, turbines, motors, and generators
- Perform administrative functions, such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, and maintaining accurate records
- Exercise good judgment in controlling costs and expenditures of company funds
- Maintain a strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE Vernova's safety standards
- Provide leadership to skilled labor performing work on customer sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results and exceed customer expectations
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve service delivery
What We Are Looking For
- Appropriately qualified Electrical Fitter with proven high-voltage experience or Electrical Technician/Technologist or Electrician with proven high-voltage experience
- Familiarity with test equipment and testing procedures
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong English speaking, reading, and writing skills
- Proven experience in leading field service teams or working in a similar role
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel and flexibility in work schedule
- Basic Workplace First Aid certification
Nice to Have
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Project and Microsoft Access
- Experience with industry-specific software and technologies
- Certification in a relevant field, such as electrical engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience in managing budgets and controlling costs
