About the Role
The Medical Assistant Patient Advocate role at Amaze Health is a unique opportunity to revolutionize patient care in a virtual environment. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will serve as a vital link between patients and providers, ensuring a seamless and nurturing virtual care experience. The role entails guiding patients through their telehealth journey, providing comprehensive virtual support, and facilitating seamless telehealth appointments.Day-to-day, you will work closely with healthcare providers to deliver exceptional care, utilizing your clinical expertise and technical skills to navigate EMR systems and telehealth platforms. You will be part of a dynamic team that prioritizes patient-centered care, innovation, and collaboration.
What You Will Do
- Guide patients through their telehealth journey, ensuring comfort and readiness for virtual appointments
- Conduct patient intake, update medical histories, verify medications, and document visit details in EMR systems
- Facilitate seamless telehealth appointments by managing patient queues, sharing relevant information, and coordinating follow-up actions
- Master digital health tools, including EMR systems and telehealth platforms
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues for patients and providers
- Maintain accurate electronic health records, coordinate virtual referrals, and communicate securely with patients
- Provide comprehensive virtual support, including answering patient questions and addressing concerns
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver exceptional care
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in telehealth and virtual care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
What We Are Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus completion and active certification in an accredited Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or EMT program
- At least 5 years of experience in primary care, specialty, or urgent/emergent care
- Strong technical skills with EMR systems, telehealth platforms, and video conferencing tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for patient support via text, email, and video
- Problem-solving ability and adaptability in a fast-paced virtual care environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for accurate documentation and coordination
- Comfortable working onsite at Amaze Health's Denver office (Bellview & I-25)
- Ability to work in a team-driven culture, valuing collaboration and open communication
Nice to Have
- Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
- Certification in medical specialties, such as pediatrics or gerontology
- Knowledge of insurance processes and healthcare operations
- Experience with electronic health records and telehealth platforms
