About the Role
The Medical Editor position at Synchrony Group, LLC, is a pivotal role that ensures the highest editorial quality of medical communications content. This involves working closely with various teams, including Editorial Services, Medical Services, and Creative Services, to guarantee that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy. The role requires a deep understanding of medical communications, strong editing skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.As a Medical Editor, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional services in the medical communications industry. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include fact-checking, editing, and proofreading medical communications materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. You will also be responsible for managing projects, adhering to client and project requirements, and collaborating with other departments to achieve shared goals.

What You Will Do
- Fact-check, substantively edit, and proofread all medical communications materials for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Ensure adherence to client and project requirements, including American Medical Association (AMA) Manual of Style, client corporate and brand style guides, and agency standards.
- Manage Veeva Vault submissions and maintain the reference library.
- Handle permissions requests for figures, tables, and other copyrighted materials.
- Collaborate with the Editorial Services, Medical Services, and Creative Services teams to achieve project goals.
- Participate in product status meetings to stay informed about ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Develop, maintain, and apply project-, product-, and client-specific style guides to ensure consistency across projects.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on client and AMA style, grammar, and usage, as well as agency standards.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong background in medical editing, preferably in the medical communications industry.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with Veeva Vault or similar systems.
- Excellent editing, proofreading, and fact-checking skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
