## About the Role As a Medical Virtual Assistant at Virtual Rockstar, you will play a vital role in supporting the multidisciplinary therapy team, ensuring a seamless patient experience, and maintaining accurate records. You will work closely with the front office and billing staff to guarantee accurate scheduling, insurance handling, and patient privacy. This role requires a full-time commitment during U.S. Eastern Time business hours and offers the opportunity to work remotely.

The medical virtual assistant role is crucial in today's healthcare landscape, as it bridges the gap between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff. As part of the Virtual Rockstar team, you will be an integral part of a collaborative care environment, working alongside occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and psychologists to provide comprehensive care to patients.

## What You Will Do - Respond to patient inquiries via phone and email, providing timely and accurate information - Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy - Assist in pre-visit organization, verifying paperwork and insurance requirements - Verify patient insurance coverage, obtain pre-authorizations, and update patient files with accurate insurance information - Liaise with insurance providers to clarify coverage and benefits - Track and follow up on pending claims and denials, resolving billing discrepancies promptly - Coordinate with the in-house front desk and billing team to ensure scheduling and billing accuracy - Support therapists and administrative staff in managing daily workflows - Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times

## What We Are Looking For - Experience in medical administration, preferably in PT/OT/SLP or behavioral health settings - Strong understanding of insurance verification, authorizations, and claims follow-up - Proficiency with healthcare software and insurance portals (e.g., Prompt, Availity, CareFirst, NaviNet, Humana Military) - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities - Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional remote workspace - Proven experience with insurance benefits verification - Proven experience obtaining and managing prior authorizations - Experience following up on insurance denials and claim issues
