## About the Role As a Member of Technical Staff at Cohere, you will be part of a small, diverse team of engineers designing, building, and scaling AI systems that underpin the company's suite of dev-centric enterprise products. Your primary focus will be on North, Cohere's all-in-one secure AI workspace platform, driving agent development in RAG, tool use, and language agents. You will work closely with top researchers, engineers, and annotators to create and evaluate data for post-training LLMs, ensuring the products are of the highest quality and performance.

The team operates primarily between ET to CET time zones, making it an ideal opportunity for those in EMEA friendly timezones. With a strong emphasis on remote collaboration, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere, leveraging the company's cutting-edge infrastructure and tools.

## What You Will Do - Design, build, and scale AI systems that underpin Cohere's suite of dev-centric enterprise products - Drive agent development in RAG, tool use, and language agents embedded in North - Collaborate with top researchers, engineers, and annotators to create and evaluate data for post-training LLMs - Engage with the latest AI and deep learning research, staying up-to-date with leading conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, and AAAI - Leverage product data to understand usage patterns and identify areas for improvement - Work closely with leadership to shape company strategy and goals - Quickly research and experiment with novel ideas on the company's supercomputer and data infrastructure - Develop and maintain large-scale datasets, ensuring they are of the highest quality and performance - Collaborate effectively with human annotators and cross-functional teams - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying this knowledge to drive innovation

## What We Are Looking For - Extremely strong software engineering skills - Proficiency in Python and related ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, TF-Serving, JAX, and XLA/MLIR - Deep experience in building and leading a product-centric organization - Direct experience working as part of a team building Large Language Models - Released multiple features with several iterations - Strong track record of creating and curating large-scale datasets - Experience using large-scale distributed training strategies - Familiarity with autoregressive sequence models, such as Transformers - Ability to collaborate effectively with human annotators and cross-functional teams - Strong understanding of AI and deep learning principles
