About the Role
The Membership Retention Associate position at AAA is a pivotal role within the Member Care Unit, focusing on retaining existing members who are considering cancellation. This is a full-time, remote position that offers the opportunity to work from home and be part of a dynamic team that values customer satisfaction and membership growth. Day-to-day, the role involves leveraging deep product knowledge to communicate the full array of AAA membership benefits to members, ensuring they understand the value proposition and how it aligns with their needs.As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be integral in differentiating AAA from its competitors through excellent customer service, problem-solving, and sales skills. The role operates within a high-volume, multi-channel contact center environment, requiring the ability to adapt to various customer interactions while maintaining a professional demeanor.

What You Will Do
- Deploy deep product knowledge to discuss the full array of AAA membership benefits with current members who wish to cancel.
- Communicate the value of AAA membership benefits, products, and services to ensure members recognize their worth.
- Provide courteous and professional counseling in response to member inquiries about membership benefits and services.
- Utilize problem-solving and selling skills to differentiate AAA from its competitors.
- Operate automatic call distribution (ACD) softphone and PC running Windows-based and Internet applications.
- Accurately gather, document, and respond to members’ needs, matching these needs with appropriate and relevant AAA products and services.
- Deliver extraordinary customer service to ensure member satisfaction and create a positive impact on membership renewal rates.
- Cross-sell additional membership products or upsell additional products when appropriate.
- Contact members by phone or email upon non-renewal in an attempt to renew membership coverage.
- Collaborate with others to achieve results, sharing ideas and knowledge to build morale and cohesion within the group.
- Maintain training and knowledge of all AAA Club Alliance membership products and other member benefits/services through ongoing training courses.
What We Are Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two to five years of customer sales and service and/or retention experience preferred.
- Deep understanding of digital skills and their application in customer service and sales.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Windows-based applications.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to de-escalate frustrated or upset callers.
- Knowledge of sales principles and practices.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate and share ideas.
- Strong analytical skills to understand member needs and match them with appropriate products and services.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a contact center environment.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Certification in customer service or sales.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills.
- Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms.
