Job Description

About the Role

As a Metadata Curation Specialist at Goat Group, you will play a crucial role in managing the footwear product catalog, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency. Your primary focus will be on categorizing and backfilling data, working closely with the Metadata Curation Manager for Footwear to understand priority areas. You'll be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to delivering high-quality products to over 60 million members across 170 countries.

The role requires a high level of autonomy, as you'll be working proactively to create new release products and reactively to address any issues that arise. You'll need to have a deep understanding of Goat Group's standards and be able to reference them in your daily workflows. Collaboration is key, as you'll be working with various teams, including Buying and Research, to understand guardrails and standards related to footwear products.

What You Will Do

  • Work with the Metadata Curation Manager for Footwear to understand priority focus areas for categorizing and backfilling data in the Footwear/Sneaker product catalog.
  • Proactively create new release products within areas of priority while also meeting SLAs for assigned tasks.
  • Gain a deep understanding of Goat Group's standards and be able to reference them in normal workflows.
  • Provide feedback to external agents and socialize with peers to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Understand and achieve team success frameworks as defined by the Catalog team leads.
  • Execute tasks efficiently using Catalog tooling, and provide training and feedback to the Fashion team lead when necessary.
  • Debug reported Metadata issues and escalate to leads when relevant.
  • Collaborate with Buying and Research team members to understand guardrails and standards for creating footwear products within the Catalog.
  • Utilize advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills to analyze and manage data effectively.
  • Develop technical curiosity to learn and become an expert in new processes, technical applications, and internal tools/software.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in an e-commerce or marketplace environment, or relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge about sneaker brands and silhouettes, high fashion footwear, vintage sneakers, and trends.
  • Proficiency in research and strong ability to prioritize work autonomously.
  • Prompt execution under strict timelines and attention to detail in daily tasks.
  • Great interpersonal skills, with the ability to gather, document, and share information clearly and concisely with teammates, leadership, and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to take accountability for tasks and project areas of ownership, such as new footwear releases.
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets knowledge (certification is a plus).
  • Technical curiosity and the ability to write simple SQL requests to identify missing product information.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data analysis tools beyond Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Familiarity with SQL and database management.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and their integration with metadata management.
