Job Description

About the Role

The Middle School Instructional Coach plays a vital role in supporting the academic success of students in a virtual classroom setting. As a member of the instructional team, this professional will work closely with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to design and implement effective learning plans, provide coaching and professional development, and drive student achievement. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and teacher development, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What You Will Do

  • Design and implement individual and group learning opportunities for teachers and school leaders
  • Model effective and differentiated instruction for teachers
  • Create and deliver ongoing professional development for teachers and school leaders
  • Assist teachers in aligning their instruction with strong teaching methods, standards, and student data
  • Observe teachers and school leaders and provide meaningful feedback and coaching
  • Increase teacher effectiveness by improving the quality of teaching and learning through ongoing support to teachers
  • Equip staff with resources and skills needed to implement effective instructional practices
  • Assist teachers and school leaders with implementing instructional decisions based on student data
  • Assist in implementing assessment and grading practices
  • Provide support to teachers and administrators in analyzing student data
  • Support the development of high-quality professional learning communities
  • Conduct research around new practices

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education
  • Five years of successful teaching experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to pass required background check
  • Experience in designing and delivering quality professional development for administrators and teachers
  • Previous coaching or leadership experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum frameworks and standards
  • Experience in research-based instructional practices for learning
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and organization skills
  • Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Web conferencing tools and web proficiency

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in Education, Instruction, or Leadership
  • Experience with virtual learning environments
  • Familiarity with educational technology and software
