About the Role
The Cloud Engineer role at Software Mind is a critical position that requires a high level of technical expertise and independence. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure environments for managed services clients. This includes ongoing platform support, incident handling, monitoring, and ensuring the stability and security of cloud infrastructure. You will be working closely with client teams to resolve issues and improve cloud infrastructure.The role is part of Software Mind's managed services team, which supports clients in the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimization of their cloud environments. What You Will Do
- Monitor, maintain, and support GCP and Azure environments for managed services clients
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents and service requests
- Manage cloud resources, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL (GCP) and Azure VMs, Azure Storage, Azure SQL, App Services, and Azure Functions
- Configure and maintain networking components, such as VPC, Cloud DNS, Private Service Connect (GCP) and Virtual Networks, VPN Gateway, Azure DNS, NSGs, Private Endpoints (Azure)
- Ensure security and compliance through IAM, Org Policies, VPC Service Controls, Secret Manager, Cloud Audit Logs (GCP) and Azure AD / Entra ID, RBAC, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud (Azure)
- Manage infrastructure using Terraform and Azure DevOps / Cloud Build / GitHub Actions pipelines
- Collaborate with client teams and contribute to documentation and runbooks
- Participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 support
- Develop and implement automation scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends, and apply this knowledge to improve cloud infrastructure and services
What We Are Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure core services
- Good understanding of GCP and Azure networking
- Knowledge of Azure security fundamentals (Entra ID, RBAC, Azure Policy, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud) and GCP (IAM, Org Policies, audit logging, Secret Manager)
- Experience with Terraform (required) and Bicep (a plus) for infrastructure as code
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Cloud Build)
- Ability to troubleshoot complex GCP and Azure infrastructure issues independently
- Good communication skills in English, for a client-facing environment
- Experience working in a managed services environment
- Understanding of ITIL or service management frameworks
- GCP Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification
- AZ-104 and AZ-305 certification (preferred)
Nice to Have
- Experience with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
- Experience with GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine)
- Familiarity with containerization using Docker
- Experience with agile development methodologies
