About the Role
Mozilla is seeking a talented Mobile Engineer, Android to join their team in developing innovative, open-source applications that promote a healthy and inclusive internet. As a key member of the mobile engineering team, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Android solutions that align with Mozilla's mission. The team is dedicated to creating products that give users a choice in their Android browser, ensuring a safe and transparent online experience. You will work closely with senior team members to ensure the highest quality standards are met and contribute to the growth of Mozilla's ecosystem of open-source Android components.The role entails collaborating with a geographically distributed team to develop and ship Android solutions, participating in code reviews, and adopting best practices in coding. What You Will Do
- Participate in designing, debugging, building, and shipping Android solutions that promote a healthy and inclusive internet
- Collaborate with senior team members to ensure the highest quality standards are met
- Contribute to maintaining and upholding quality standards by participating in code reviews, bug fixing, testing, and adopting coding practices
- Engage with Mozilla's open-source community to gather feedback and improve Android solutions
- Develop and maintain Android applications using Java and Kotlin
- Work independently on simpler tasks and collaboratively within a team on more complex projects
- Deliver well-designed, reusable, and high-quality code with guidance from senior team members
- Participate in the development of products and contribute to the growth of Mozilla's ecosystem of open-source Android components
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in mobile engineering
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in building Android applications using Java and Kotlin
- Eagerness to investigate and assist in resolving bugs and issues
- Experience contributing to the development of products
- Ability to work both independently on simpler tasks and collaboratively within a team
- Enthusiasm to work with and learn from an outstanding group of people, including more experienced engineers
