About the Role

Mozilla is seeking a Mobile Engineer, Android to join its team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about creating a better internet for all. As a Mobile Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, debugging, building, and shipping Android solutions that promote a healthy and inclusive internet. You will be working closely with a diverse team of engineers who are responsible for the Firefox mobile applications and ecosystem of open-source Android components.

The role involves participating in the development of applications that give people a choice in their Android browser, promoting transparency, innovation, inclusion, and opportunity from every angle. You will be working on a product that has over 100 million downloads from the Google Play Store, making a significant impact on the way people experience the web.

Mozilla's mission is to make the internet better for people, and as a Mobile Engineer, you will be contributing to this mission by developing open-source software that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in designing, debugging, building, and shipping Android solutions that promote a healthy and inclusive internet
  • Become a member of a hardworking, diverse, and geographically distributed team responsible for the Firefox mobile applications and ecosystem of open-source Android components
  • Contribute to maintaining and upholding quality standards by participating in code reviews, bug fixing, testing, and adopting coding practices
  • Listen to feedback from Mozilla's open-source community to gradually improve Android solutions and support Mozilla’s manifesto
  • Collaborate with senior team members to investigate and assist in resolving bugs and issues
  • Develop well-designed, reusable, and high-quality code
  • Work independently on simpler tasks and collaboratively within a team
  • Participate in the development of products and contribute to the growth of the company
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in Android development

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in building Android applications using Java and Kotlin
  • Eagerness to investigate and assist in resolving bugs and issues
  • Experience contributing to the development of products
  • Ability to work both independently on simpler tasks and collaboratively within a team
