About the Role
Mercor is a cutting-edge company that connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. As a Mobile Engineer, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and implementing complex engineering tasks using frontier AI coding agents. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include reviewing model-generated mobile application code, identifying bugs and edge cases, and applying professional engineering judgment to realistic mobile engineering scenarios.You will be working closely with a team of experienced engineers and researchers to push the boundaries of what is possible in mobile app development. What You Will Do
- Use frontier AI coding agents to complete and evaluate complex engineering tasks
- Review model-generated mobile application code for correctness, quality, maintainability, and performance
- Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in model outputs
- Compare outputs from multiple frontier models and assess their strengths and weaknesses
- Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic mobile engineering scenarios
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features
- Develop and maintain production iOS applications using Swift and modern iOS frameworks
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI coding agents and iOS development
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of professional iOS engineering experience
- Experience building and maintaining production iOS applications using Swift and modern iOS frameworks
- Regular use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar tools
- Ability to evaluate model-generated mobile implementations and architectural decisions
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience shipping production mobile applications
- Knowledge of cloud-based services such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI
