About the Role

As a Mobile Engineer, iOS at Ramp, you will play a critical role in enhancing and expanding the company's successful mobile app. This involves not only improving the core platform that thousands of businesses rely on but also building the future of automated finance by integrating AI and intelligent agents into the mobile experience. The iOS Engineer position is integral to Ramp's mission of providing smart infrastructure for finance teams, automating payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books. What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and launch new products to Ramp's iOS app, focusing on user experience and market demand.
  • Help establish engineering processes, tools, and systems that allow the team to scale the code base and productivity efficiently.
  • Conduct code reviews and set engineering standards to ensure high-quality outputs and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design teams to identify key features that will make the app successful and align with the company's overall strategy.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand customer feedback and continuously improve the product, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of the market.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and simplify onboarding for new team members.
  • Participate in the development of the company's tech stack, including contributing to open-source projects and staying updated with the latest technologies and trends.
  • Engage in agile development methodologies, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure team cohesion and efficiency.
  • Implement automated testing and debugging tools to minimize errors and ensure the reliability of the app.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in mobile development, preferably with a focus on iOS.
  • Proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI for iOS development, with a strong understanding of mobile design patterns and best practices.
  • Experience launching at least one mobile app and/or several features that reached a large number of users, demonstrating the ability to handle complex projects and user bases.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, continuously grow, and master your craft, with a focus on delivering high-quality outputs.
  • Strong understanding of mobile app development life cycles, from design to deployment.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git, and familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with web apps (React, TypeScript), and understanding of how to integrate web technologies into mobile applications.
  • Experience with backend technologies (Python, Flask, SQL, OpenAPI), and knowledge of how to design and implement APIs for mobile consumption.
  • Familiarity with Ramp's mobile stack, including Swift Concurrency, The Composable Architecture, Bazel, OpenAPI, and Buildkite.
  • Experience managing apps with App Store Connect, including optimizing app store listings and monitoring app performance metrics.
