About the Role

As a Mongolian interpreter at LanguageLine Solutions, you will be responsible for handling calls on demand and rendering the meaning of conversations between Mongolian and English speakers. Your work will have a direct impact on the lives of limited-English speakers, as well as the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community. You will be part of a team that serves clients across numerous industries, including healthcare, government, and finance.

Your day-to-day tasks will involve responding to interpreting sessions promptly, conducting interpretation in a friendly and professional manner, and rendering correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocols. You will also be required to maintain a professional demeanor throughout the interpreting sessions, even in high-pressure situations such as 911 calls.

What You Will Do

  • Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner
  • Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocols
  • Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions
  • Maintain a professional demeanor throughout the interpreting sessions
  • Remain calm during interpreting sessions, even in high-pressure situations
  • Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours
  • Follow client instructions and protocol to ensure client expectations are met
  • Understand protocol and terminology for various industries, including medical, insurance, and finance
  • Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and working in a diverse environment
  • Use Excel to manage data and track progress

What We Are Looking For

  • Native or near-native fluency in Mongolian and English
  • Excellent communication and interpretation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to render correct concepts and meanings
  • Professional demeanor and courtesy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
