About the Role
The Morning Elementary Math Teacher/Specialist role at Made for Math is a part-time, remote position designed for experienced elementary teachers who are passionate about helping students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and autism. This role entails working closely with students in 25 to 55-minute sessions, Monday through Friday, between 7 AM and 12 PM Eastern Time. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing students' starting points, curating tailored lesson plans, and tracking progress.As a Math Specialist at Made for Math, you will be part of a growing company that is dedicated to providing life-changing math intervention services to families. What You Will Do
- Meet with students in 25 to 55-minute sessions weekly
- Work primarily in the morning, Monday through Friday, between 7 AM and 12 PM Eastern Time
- Assess students' starting points using the company's game-centered assessment
- Curate lesson plans tailored to each student's needs
- Track student progress and communicate with parents via email
- Attend weekly team meetings on Mondays at 4 PM Eastern Time
- Participate in additional team meetings as arranged
- Learn and implement the company's systematic and structured math method
- Develop and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in math education and pedagogy
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or other Education-related fields
- Current teaching license (preferred)
- At least 2+ years of teaching experience
- Good communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with parents and students
- Patient and able to adjust to the mood of the student
- Ability to teach in a fun and enthusiastic way while keeping the lesson clutter-free
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with online learning platforms and technology
Nice to Have
- Experience working with students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and autism
- Knowledge of systematic and structured math methods
- Familiarity with game-centered assessments and lesson planning
