About the Role
The Multi Grade Geographically Position at School District No. 27 is a unique opportunity for teachers to work in a remote area and make a difference in the lives of students from kindergarten to grade 3. This role requires a high degree of flexibility, adaptability, and creativity, as teachers will be working with students of different ages and skill levels. The successful candidate will be part of a close-knit community and will have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.The school operates on a 4.5-day week schedule, with Friday afternoons off, providing a great work-life balance. The district is committed to providing a supportive environment for new teachers, with a structured mentorship program and opportunities for professional development.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for multi-grade classes
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop curriculum and improve student outcomes
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with different learning styles and abilities
- Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
- Develop and maintain relationships with First Nations communities and incorporate cultural awareness into teaching practices
What We Are Looking For
- Valid BC Teaching Certification with the Teacher Regulation Branch
- Experience teaching multi-grade classes, particularly in rural or remote areas
- Ability to work effectively in a remote community with limited resources
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and with different learning needs
- Familiarity with First Nations cultures and traditions
- Ability to speak SecwepemctsiÌn, Tsilhqot'in, or Carrier languages (an asset)

- Experience with technology integration in the classroom
- Knowledge of project-based learning and differentiated instruction
