About the Role

The Multi-Jurisdiction Accountant role at Flag Theory is a unique opportunity to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of international client entities. As a seasoned accounting professional, you will be responsible for managing a small team of accounting specialists, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Your expertise in tax and regulatory coordination will be essential in navigating the complexities of multi-jurisdictional accounting.

Day-to-day, you will allocate and review work assignments, prepare financial statements, and deliver timely financial reporting to clients. Your ability to work effectively in a remote environment, with a high degree of autonomy, will be crucial to success in this role. You will be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team and will be expected to maintain open communication with stakeholders.

What You Will Do

  • Manage and supervise a small team of accounting professionals, including allocation and review of work assignments
  • Prepare financial statements for client entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain organized accounting records and documentation for audit and regulatory review
  • Deliver timely financial reporting to clients, including periodic financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring efficient workflow allocation
  • Prepare or oversee preparation of client tax returns and regulatory reporting, coordinating with external tax advisors and regulatory professionals
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and reporting standards, including maintenance of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Allocate and review work assignments, providing guidance and support to team members as needed
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including management and other teams, to ensure seamless delivery of accounting services

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in an accounting or finance management role, preferably within a professional services or multi-entity environment
  • Minimum 5 years of combined accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting experience, including supervision or review responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing financial statements, and coordinating tax reporting obligations
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and team coordination skills, with the ability to allocate and review work effectively
  • Experience managing accounting matters involving multi-jurisdictional or cross-border corporate structures
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and accounting procedures
  • Practical experience with general ledger management and month-end and year-end close processes
