About the Role
The Multifamily Certified Electrician 2 plays a critical role in leading the installation of residential solar systems and batteries, ensuring compliance with national and local building codes. What You Will Do
- Lead the installation of residential solar systems and batteries, ensuring compliance with national and local building codes.
- Perform and train others on various electrical tasks, including main panel upgrades and electrical troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
- Work closely with the PV installation crew and fill in as needed, including leading the crew in the absence of the Foreman.
- Ensure all electrical work is of good quality and compliant with current NEC and local codes.
- Complete solar battery installations as assigned and work with the branch team and homeowners to fulfill any necessary system upgrades or repairs.
- Mentor and train team members to enhance their electrical skills and prepare them for future positions within the company.
- Collaborate with license holders, AHJ inspectors, and crew members to serve as a subject matter expert on electrical work.
- Identify and report safety hazards, encouraging a safe working environment for all team members.
- Take ownership of issues or questions and escalate problems to the appropriate persons, following up accordingly with the customer.
What We Are Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of solar electrical installation and repair experience.
- Experience with electrical work involving wiring up to 1000 VDC and 480 VAC.
- Working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels.
- Ability to proficiently perform the job duties of a Certified Electrician.
- Valid Journeyman License/Electrician Certification or equivalent per local and state requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
