About the Role
As a Named Account Executive - Credit at Plaid, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's mission to unlock financial freedom for everyone. You will be responsible for engaging with a curated list of lenders, identifying opportunities for Plaid solutions to deliver value, and owning the end-to-end sales process. Your day-to-day activities will involve developing a deep understanding of Plaid's solutions and applying this knowledge to help customers achieve their unique goals and objectives.The Credit team at Plaid combines deep product and industry knowledge, focusing on helping both upcoming and well-established lenders take their growth to the next level. As a key member of this team, you will work closely with cross-functional resources to drive initiatives and support a consultative sales motion. Your success will be measured by your ability to identify opportunities, develop a book of high-potential engaged prospects, and maintain a sufficient pipeline to support successful attainment against quota.
What You Will Do
- Identify opportunities for Plaid solutions to deliver value to prospective high-growth and existing lending customers
- Develop a book of high-potential engaged prospects and maintain a sufficient pipeline to support successful attainment against quota
- Own the end-to-end sales cycle and coordinate efforts from sales engineers, product specialists, and other team members throughout the sales process
- Coordinate cross-functional resources and drive initiatives across Plaid to support a consultative sales motion
- Manage pipeline and accurately forecast deal value and win probability
- Develop a deep understanding of Plaid solutions and apply this knowledge to identify how each customer can leverage the company's technology to achieve their unique goals and objectives
- Work with Plaid's existing lending customers to deeply understand their business and align solutions to help them achieve both near and long-term goals
- Collaborate with segment Account Executives to accomplish goals across all segments at Plaid
- Engage stakeholders at all levels of an organization, presenting complex concepts in simple terms to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Prospecting, qualifying, and negotiating skills will be essential in this role
What We Are Looking For
- A minimum of 7+ years in a quota-carrying direct sales role, with a strong track record of attainment
- Excellent prospecting, qualifying, and negotiating skills, with a consultative sales approach and a customer-centric mindset
- Working knowledge of APIs and a desire to understand how Plaid works 'under the hood'
- Professional yet relaxed communication style, with the ability to break down complex concepts and explain them in simple terms
- Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of an organization without being perceived as 'salesy'
- Strong understanding of financial institutions and the lending industry
- Experience with Excel and other sales tools
Nice to Have
- Experience in the fintech industry, particularly in credit solutions
- Knowledge of Plaid's competitors and the broader financial ecosystem
- Certification in sales or a related field
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales engineers and product specialists
