About the Role
The Network Engineer role at Leidos is a key position that requires a deep understanding of data centre and campus networking technologies. As a member of the senior delivery team, you will be responsible for providing network engineering skills and producing solution designs. You will work closely with partner delivery teams to design and implement modern, scalable networks using a range of new and emerging technologies, including automation.The role entails working on a variety of projects, from designing and implementing network architectures to providing technical expertise to programme teams. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and identify new and relevant technologies to solve problems and make improvements.

What You Will Do
- Provide network engineering skills and produce solution designs as part of the senior delivery team
- Work with partner delivery teams to design and implement modern, scalable networks using a range of new and emerging technologies, including automation
- Lead on all network management and acceptance aspects, including setting standards and providing deep technical expertise to Leidos programme teams
- Utilize the concepts and principles of verification and validation to produce relevant network designs across multiple subject areas
- Collaborate with customers on all aspects of network management, including the assurance and integration of network services to meet the needs of multiple lines of business
- Recognize and exploit business opportunities by leveraging engineering and design best practices
- Communicate effectively across organizational, technical, and political boundaries, understanding the context
- Contribute to the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation
- Provide material to support change projects as required
What We Are Looking For
- Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience of data centre and campus networking technologies: Cisco (routing, switching, firewalls), Palo Alto (Next Gen firewalls), F5 (global and local load balancing), encryption
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (static and dynamic) in data centre, campus, and wide area networks
- Experience and knowledge of networking - L2/3 networking and routing
- Strong experience of operating high availability data centre networks supporting critical workloads on Windows, Linux, and SAN, including technical refresh of large numbers of devices
- Strong experience of monitoring and management tooling, including Solarwinds, FMC, Panorama
- Good general knowledge of Windows Server Environments, (including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP, and GPO) and Linux (RHEL) data centre server infrastructures
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents and ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud-based networking technologies
- Knowledge of network security best practices and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL
