About the Role

The Network Implementation Manager is a critical role at Akamai Technologies, responsible for managing deployment projects and coordinating with vendors to ensure the successful implementation of network infrastructure. This role is part of the Edge Platform Team, which is responsible for one of the world's largest distributed platforms, handling a significant portion of the world's web traffic. The ideal candidate will have experience in configuration management, service provisioning, and leadership, with a strong understanding of network infrastructure and deployment projects.

The Network Implementation Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Account Managers, Network Infrastructure Engineers, and Logistics Coordinators, to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. This role requires strong coordination and multitasking skills, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities and set them correctly based on the needs of the business.

The Edge Platform Team is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a focus on innovation and collaboration. The team is responsible for supporting a diverse pool of stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and internal teams. The Network Implementation Manager will be expected to contribute to the team's efforts to improve internal processes and procedures, as well as participate in projects to improve the overall efficiency of the network.

What You Will Do

  • Manage deployment projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Coordinate with collocation vendors, internet service providers (ISPs), Account Managers, Network Infrastructure Engineers, and Logistics Coordinators to ensure successful project implementation
  • Drive and manage deployment projects, providing reports and status updates as necessary
  • Track circuit, rack, IP, and power data in Akamai databases, maintaining accurate datacenter-specific information
  • Participate in projects to improve internal processes and procedures, contributing to the team's efforts to improve network efficiency
  • Work with ISP and Collocation Vendors and Partners to place and track orders, ensuring that all projects are completed to a high standard
  • Manage competing priorities and set them correctly based on the needs of the business
  • Contribute to the team's efforts to improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are completed successfully
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve process efficiency

What We Are Looking For

  • 3-4 years of experience in configuration management or service provisioning
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and set them correctly based on the needs of the business
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment, both as an individual contributor and as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Strong coordination and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience working with network infrastructure and deployment projects
