About the Role
As a Nutrition Support Dietitian at Option Care Health, you will be responsible for providing daily clinical support to patients receiving parenteral nutrition within your assigned territory. This role is a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care. You will be an integral part of the nutrition support team, working closely with sales staff, clinical staff, and other stakeholders to promote the home nutrition support program.The Nutrition Support Dietitian role is a vital part of Option Care Health's commitment to providing exceptional patient care. As a registered dietitian, you will bring your expertise in nutrition support to the table, working to develop and implement clinical, operational, and marketing strategies that promote the home nutrition support program. You will work closely with the Area Manager, Nutritional Services, to ensure optimal coverage within your assigned territory.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing comprehensive nutrition assessments, developing and implementing nutrition care plans, and providing nutrition education and guidance to patients, caregivers, and clinical staff. You will also be responsible for conducting patient education and teaching in areas of parenteral and enteral nutrition, as well as participating in office strategic sales planning and program implementation.
What You Will Do
- Provide daily clinical support to patients receiving parenteral nutrition within your assigned territory
- Develop and implement nutrition care plans for patients with acute and chronic conditions
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and provide nutrition education and guidance to patients, caregivers, and clinical staff
- Participate in office strategic sales planning and program implementation
- Collaborate with sales staff, clinical staff, and other stakeholders to promote the home nutrition support program
- Conduct patient education and teaching in areas of parenteral and enteral nutrition
- Work closely with the Area Manager, Nutritional Services, to ensure optimal coverage within your assigned territory
- Support sales activity and account relationships within your assigned territory
- Maintain knowledge of EN and PN products and basic reimbursement guidelines
- Participate in daily or weekly team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
- Evaluate patients for appropriateness of initiating parenteral nutrition in the home setting
What We Are Looking For
- Registered Dietitian (RD) certification
- Experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in nutrition support or a related field
- Strong knowledge of nutrition support and enteral and parenteral nutrition
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to travel within your assigned territory as needed
- Digital skills, including proficiency in electronic medical records and other software applications
- Experience working in a remote or home-based setting
Nice to Have
- Experience working with patients with acute and chronic conditions
- Knowledge of reimbursement guidelines and insurance regulations
- Experience with sales or marketing in a clinical setting
- Certification in a related field, such as Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC)
