About the Role

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) role at SLP-Tele is a rewarding opportunity for skilled professionals to provide virtual occupational therapy services to clients across California. As a COTA, you will collaborate with licensed Occupational Therapists to assess and implement treatment plans, monitor progress, and provide guidance to clients through virtual platforms. The role entails working with a dynamic team of therapists, communicating effectively with clients and caregivers, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records. What You Will Do

  • Provide remote occupational therapy services, including exercises, activities, and interventions to help patients achieve their goals and improve their functional abilities.
  • Educate patients and their caregivers on techniques and strategies to enhance their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and other necessary documentation.
  • Adhere to relevant ethical and legal standards and regulations, including patient privacy and confidentiality (e.g., HIPAA compliance).
  • Utilize telehealth platforms and tools effectively to conduct remote therapy sessions.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in occupational therapy and engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Collaborate with licensed Occupational Therapists to assess and implement treatment plans.
  • Monitor progress and provide guidance to clients through virtual platforms.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, caregivers, and the Clinical team.

What We Are Looking For

  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • Active CA State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License or ability to apply.
  • Experience in a clinic, private practice, hospital, or home health setting.
  • Technical proficiency to conduct teletherapy through our all-inclusive platform.
  • Comfort working with pediatrics (18 months+).
  • Strong experience in feeding, sensory, hand, emotional regulation, and neurodiverse clients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
