About the Role
As an Ojibway interpreter with LanguageLine Solutions, you will be at the forefront of breaking down language barriers between Ojibway and English speakers. What You Will Do
- Respond to interpreting sessions in a timely and professional manner
- Interpret conversations between Ojibway and English speakers accurately and efficiently
- Maintain a high level of cultural sensitivity and awareness in all interactions
- Speak clearly and politely in both languages, using proper pronunciation and enunciation
- Handle calls related to various industries, including healthcare, government, and finance
- Provide interpretations for both simple and complex subjects
- Remain calm and composed during interpreting sessions, even in emergency or high-stress situations
- Follow client instructions and protocol to ensure expectations are met
- Continuously update your knowledge of industry-specific terminology and procedures
- Collaborate with other interpreters and linguistic professionals to ensure high-quality services
What We Are Looking For
- Native or near-native fluency in Ojibway and English
- Strong understanding of Ojibway and English cultures
- Ability to interpret in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and efficiency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with industry-specific terminology and procedures (e.g., medical, financial)
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
