About the Role

The Omni Flight Mechanic role is a critical position within OMNI's maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the safety and airworthiness of the company's aircraft fleet. As a Flight Mechanic, you will be working remotely, performing a variety of maintenance tasks, from routine inspections to complex repairs. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the high standards of OMNI's operations, contributing to the success of the company's flight operations.

Day-to-day, you will be engaged in a range of activities, including diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, performing preventative maintenance, and collaborating with other maintenance personnel to resolve complex problems. Your role will also involve keeping detailed records of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations.

What You Will Do

  • Perform routine, non-routine, and preventative maintenance on company aircraft to ensure airworthiness and safety.
  • Conduct inspections, diagnose problems, and perform repairs as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to resolve complex issues and share knowledge and expertise.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement procedures for maintenance tasks, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced mechanics as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in aircraft maintenance, attending training sessions and workshops as required.
  • Participate in safety management systems, identifying and mitigating potential safety risks.

What We Are Looking For

  • Valid A&P license, with a minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience on transport category aircraft.
  • Ability to pass a 10-year background/criminal/motor vehicle records check and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license with a clear motor vehicle record.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a remote team.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems and software applications.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with aircraft maintenance management systems and software applications.
  • Familiarity with safety management systems and risk management principles.
  • Previous experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
  • Certification in a related field, such as avionics or structures.
