About the Role
The OmniStudio Developer position at North South Consulting Group is a pivotal role in supporting digital transformation within the public sector. This involves designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and citizen-centric solutions using Salesforce OmniStudio. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the importance of compliance, accessibility, and data security in public-facing systems, particularly within government or highly regulated environments.Day-to-day, the OmniStudio Developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate functional and mission requirements into technical solutions that align with Department of Defense (DoD) architecture standards. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, the ability to problem-solve, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
The role is part of a team dedicated to modernizing and migrating legacy systems to Salesforce Government Cloud/DoD-compliant environments. As such, the ability to support modernization efforts and ensure all solutions are compliant with DoD cybersecurity and compliance frameworks, including NIST controls, FedRAMP, and RMF requirements, is essential.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain OmniStudio solutions, including OmniScripts, Integration Procedures, DataRaptors, and FlexCards, in support of Department of Defense (DoD) mission systems.
- Translate functional and mission requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions aligned with DoD architecture standards.
- Support the modernization and migration of legacy systems to Salesforce Government Cloud/DoD-compliant environments as needed.
- Develop and maintain secure integrations with internal and external DoD systems using REST/SOAP APIs and approved middleware.
- Ensure all solutions comply with DoD cybersecurity and compliance frameworks, including NIST controls, FedRAMP, and RMF requirements.
- Implement security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and secure coding standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet user needs.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum environments to ensure iterative and incremental delivery of solutions.
- Assist in the development of technical documentation for designed and developed solutions.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of Salesforce development experience, with hands-on experience with OmniStudio tools.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL.
- Experience developing secure integrations using REST/SOAP APIs.
- Working knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST 800-53, RMF, and FedRAMP requirements.
- Familiarity with secure software development practices and DevSecOps principles.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (Secret or higher, as required).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I/II, OmniStudio Developer Certification).
- Prior experience supporting DoD or other federal defense programs.
- Current Secret or Top Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Experience supporting ATO packages, security control assessments, and continuous monitoring activities.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Copado, or Gearset.
