About the Role
The Online Course Facilitator position at Eastern Kentucky University is a part-time opportunity that supports the delivery of high-enrolled online courses within the Department of Government. As an Online Course Facilitator, you will work closely with the course Instructor of Record to ensure the successful execution of online programs. Your primary responsibilities will include fostering regular and substantive interaction with assigned students, providing timely and comprehensive assessment of course assignments, and maintaining consistent communication and collaboration with the Instructor of Record.The Department of Government at Eastern Kentucky University is committed to providing high-quality online education that meets the needs of its students. As an Online Course Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in helping the university achieve its goals and ensuring that students receive an exceptional learning experience.
You will be working on an as-needed basis, typically during a seven-week online course, and will be required to work independently in a remote setting. What You Will Do
- Foster regular and substantive interaction with assigned students enrolled in the course
- Provide timely, comprehensive, and meaningful assessment of course assignments as directed by the Instructor of Record
- Maintain consistent communication and collaboration with the Instructor of Record
- Support the delivery of high-enrolled online courses within the Department of Government
- Work independently in a remote setting to ensure the successful execution of online programs
- Utilize digital tools and platforms to create engaging online experiences for students
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in online education
- Collaborate with the Instructor of Record to develop and implement course materials and assessments
- Provide feedback and support to students to help them achieve their learning goals
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of eighteen graduate hours in the teaching discipline or a Bachelor's degree from an institutionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the teaching or related discipline
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with online learning platforms and digital tools
- Ability to provide timely and comprehensive feedback to students
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline or a willingness to pursue professional development to acquire such expertise
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in online education
