Open Source Engineer

About the Role

The role entails collaborating with the developer community, documenting integration patterns and best practices, and triaging issues in public repositories. You will also engage with contributors, ensure seamless integration of Resend's products, and develop solutions that cater to the needs of a diverse group of developers. As a key member of the team, your input will be invaluable in shaping the company's approach to open source development and community engagement.

What You Will Do

• Build and maintain react.email for developers to integrate with or without Resend
• Design and implement developer tools that simplify building emails
• Contribute to open standards and collaborate with the developer community
• Document and showcase integration patterns and best practices
• Triage and resolve issues in public repositories and engage with contributors
• Develop and maintain high-quality, open source packages that enhance the platform's developer experience
• Collaborate with the development team to ensure seamless integration of Resend's products
• Engage with the developer community to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions meet the company's quality standards
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the platform

What We Are Looking For

• 5 years of software engineering experience
• Fluency in writing and speaking English
• Ability to consistently work in the Americas timezone
• Experience with open source projects and managing community contributions
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including TypeScript
• Strong understanding of CI/CD for package publishing and release automation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a distributed team
• Passion for helping other developers and contributing to the open source community
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Nice to Have

• Experience with modern tech stacks and cloud-based infrastructure
• Familiarity with email sending platforms and developer tools
