About the Role

The Operations Agent role at DHL Express is a critical part of the company's logistics and delivery operations. As an Operations Agent, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods and packages through the company's network. This will involve working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to coordinate the receipt, storage, and dispatch of packages, as well as managing the company's fleet of vehicles and equipment. The role will require a high level of physical fitness, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.

The day-to-day responsibilities of the Operations Agent role will be varied and challenging. You will be required to work independently, using your initiative and problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles and ensure that packages are delivered on time. You will also be required to work closely with colleagues and stakeholders, including customers, drivers, and other operations staff. The role will involve working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, where no two days are ever the same.

The Operations Agent role is a key part of the company's operations team, and you will be reporting to a senior operations manager. You will be expected to work closely with the rest of the team to ensure that the company's logistics and delivery operations are running smoothly and efficiently. This will involve attending regular team meetings, participating in training and development programs, and contributing to the company's continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Do

  • Receive and process packages and goods from couriers, resellers, and point of sale (POS) locations
  • Coordinate the storage and dispatch of packages, including loading and off-loading from vehicles and equipment
  • Manage the company's fleet of vehicles and equipment, including scheduling maintenance and repairs
  • Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to coordinate the movement of packages and goods through the company's network
  • Use initiative and problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles and ensure that packages are delivered on time
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers, including responding to inquiries and resolving issues
  • Manage the company's customs bond and courier bond, including releasing and transporting packages
  • Complete recovery reports and manage flight alerts
  • Conduct 100% security scans of all outbound shipments and store paperwork and manifests correctly
  • Manage and coordinate the transport of packages and goods to and from surrounding islands via commercial uplift
  • Control and monitor COA/BOS reports and AQCC monitoring
  • Use X-Ray Scanning equipment to scan packages and goods
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
  • Participate in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge

What We Are Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Valid driver's license (truck license)
  • Police background clearance check and airport security vetting
  • Must be 21 years old
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Map reading and GPS skills and knowledge of delivery area (preferred)
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally and 40 lbs frequently
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch repeatedly
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Experience working in logistics or operations (preferred)

  • Experience working with logistics or delivery companies
  • Knowledge of customs and transportation regulations
  • Experience with X-Ray Scanning equipment
