About the Role
The Operations Support Specialist - Radiology role at UW Health is a critical position that requires strong organizational and analytical skills. As a key member of the radiology team, you will be responsible for coordinating workflows, ensuring compliance with internal and national standards, and providing administrative support to department leadership. As an operations support specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the department, from coordinating charge requests to managing calendars and schedules.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate the review of charge requests or changes with coding, billing, and cost accounting to ensure compliance with internal and national standards
- Identify, coordinate, prioritize, and implement changes to charging, reconciliation, and reporting
- Provide administrative support to department leadership, including preparation of reports, researching issues, and assisting in updating policies and procedures
- Coordinate and monitor facility and departmental needs, including purchasing supplies and materials
- Participate in discussions related to workflow concerns with department managers, business office users, coding, information systems, and cost accounting teams
- Develop and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and other tools to support departmental operations
- Provide leadership support with management of calendars, maintenance of agendas, and taking meeting minutes
- Coordinate and schedule activities and meetings for management and department teams
- Assist in updating policies, procedures, manuals, and administrative tools
What We Are Looking For
- Associate's degree in business, IT, accounting, finance, or a related field
- 3 years of experience in healthcare, accounting, business administration, finance, analytics, or project leadership
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with administrative support, including calendar management and report preparation
- Knowledge of healthcare operations and compliance standards
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in business, IT, accounting, finance, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in healthcare, accounting, business administration, finance, analytics, or project leadership
- Experience with workflow analysis and process improvement
- Certification in a related field, such as medical billing or coding
