About the Role
The Operations Team Lead role at First American is a critical position that requires strong leadership and management skills. As a team lead, you will be responsible for managing daily operations, workflow, and staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. You will work closely with the supervisors and other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives. The role involves providing leadership, training, and guidance to operations staff, as well as coordinating coverage, assisting with training, and working on special projects.The operations team at First American is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires adaptability, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. As a team lead, you will be expected to motivate and inspire your team to achieve exceptional results, drive process improvements, and ensure that all operations are aligned with the company's overall strategy.
What You Will Do
- Provide leadership and guidance to operations staff on daily work
- Compile and manage certifications for the Operations Department
- Coordinate coverage with supervisors on open desks
- Assist with training on operational issues with staff
- Work on special projects as assigned
- Organize the escheatment process through efficient work procedures
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow
- Adjust errors and resolve complaints
- Perform supervisory duties in the absence of a Supervisor
- Manage workflow and staffing to ensure efficient operations
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity and quality
What We Are Looking For
- 2-4 years of related experience in operations or a similar field
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic math skills and reasoning skills
- Advanced computer software skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Experience with workflow management and staff supervision
- Knowledge of operational issues and ability to resolve them
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with project management tools and software
- Knowledge of mortgage servicing industry
- Experience with staff training and development
- Certification in operations or a related field
- Experience with process improvement and quality control
