About the Role

The Partner AI Deployment Engineer role at Openai is a critical position that requires technical leadership and strategic thinking. As a trusted technical advisor, you will work closely with AWS field leadership to drive customer outcomes and enable the adoption of Openai's generative AI applications. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining strategic partnerships with AWS, while also supporting other key partners. You will operate at the center of one of Openai's most strategic partnerships, driving innovation and growth through technical expertise and ecosystem leadership.

The AI Deployment Engineering team at Openai is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective deployment of generative AI applications for developers and enterprises. As a Partner AI Deployment Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team that is shaping the future of AI adoption. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include serving as the senior technical counterpart to AWS field leadership, influencing joint account strategy and technical direction, and shaping how Openai engages with AWS.

You will be based in Seoul, with a hybrid work model that includes 3 days in the office per week.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the senior technical counterpart to AWS field leadership, building trust and credibility across regions and teams
  • Influence joint account strategy and technical direction for high-priority opportunities
  • Shape how Openai engages with AWS by defining engagement models, prioritization frameworks, and best practices
  • Proactively identify and drive net-new opportunities and high-impact use cases across the AWS ecosystem
  • Lead technical strategy for large, ambiguous, and high-stakes enterprise engagements
  • Guide AWS and partner teams through customer opportunities from early ideation to architecture design, prototyping, and production deployment
  • Act as a technical decision-maker and escalation point, de-risking complex implementations
  • Apply strong judgment to prioritize opportunities and allocate limited technical resources for maximum impact
  • Design and communicate end-to-end AI architectures leveraging Openai and AWS services
  • Build and guide development of prototypes, POCs, and reference implementations to accelerate adoption
  • Establish best practices for scalable, secure, and production-ready GenAI systems

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of technical consulting (or equivalent) experience, managing C-level technical and business relationships with complex global organizations
  • Strong technical expertise in AI, cloud computing, and software development
  • Experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and API Gateway
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
  • Strong understanding of ecosystem enablement and partner-led delivery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong judgment and technical leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize opportunities and allocate resources
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and cloud-native applications
  • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks, such as SOC 2 and HIPAA

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Openai's generative AI technology and platforms
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, such as machine learning and natural language processing
  • Experience with cloud-based data analytics and machine learning platforms, such as AWS SageMaker
  • Certification in AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Experience with DevOps tools, such as Jenkins and Puppet
