About the Role
The Partner AI Deployment Engineer role at Openai is a critical position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills. As a key member of the AI Deployment Engineering team, you will work closely with AWS field leadership to drive customer outcomes and shape the future of AI deployment. Your primary focus will be on serving as the senior technical counterpart to AWS field leadership, building trust and credibility across regions and teams.The AI Deployment Engineering team is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective deployment of Generative AI applications for developers and enterprises. As a Partner AI Deployment Engineer, you will operate at the center of one of Openai's most strategic partnerships, driving customer outcomes through AWS and partner ecosystems while supporting other strategic partners where needed.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the senior technical counterpart to AWS field leadership, building trust and credibility across regions and teams
- Influence joint account strategy and technical direction for high-priority opportunities
- Shape how Openai engages with AWS by defining engagement models, prioritization frameworks, and best practices
- Proactively identify and drive net-new opportunities and high-impact use cases across the AWS ecosystem
- Lead technical strategy for large, ambiguous, and high-stakes enterprise engagements
- Guide AWS and partner teams through customer opportunities from early ideation to architecture design, prototyping, and production deployment
- Act as a technical decision-maker and escalation point, de-risking complex implementations
- Apply strong judgment to prioritize opportunities and allocate limited technical resources for maximum impact
- Design and communicate end-to-end AI architectures leveraging Openai and AWS services
- Build and guide development of prototypes, POCs, and reference implementations to accelerate adoption
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of technical consulting or equivalent experience, managing C-level technical and business relationships with complex global organizations
- Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to operate as a technical leader and systems thinker
- Deep technical expertise in AI, cloud computing, and GTM
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with AWS field leadership and other stakeholders
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to drive customer outcomes and shape the future of AI deployment
- Experience working with AWS and other cloud computing platforms
- Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, including Generative AI
- Experience with solution architecture and hands-on building
Nice to Have
- Experience working with other cloud computing platforms, such as Azure or Google Cloud
- Strong understanding of DevOps and agile development methodologies
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Openai's products and services, including Generative AI
