About the Role

As a Patient Intake Specialist at Aveanna Healthcare, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless transition of new patients into the care system. What You Will Do

  • Gather and verify demographic and clinical information from patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient patient care
  • Communicate with patients and external stakeholders to obtain required intake information
  • Verify insurance coverage and review benefits to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Submit and follow up on authorizations as needed
  • Review prescription validity and identify missing or required documentation
  • Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation of patient information
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support timely start of care
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on industry best practices

What We Are Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare intake, medical office administration, or insurance support
  • Experience with insurance verification or authorizations preferred
  • Home health, DME, or medical office background a plus
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to manage multiple intake cases simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, with strong time-management skills and self-direction
  • Familiarity with healthcare documentation and insurance workflows
  • Ability to maintain a quiet, dedicated workspace with reliable, high-speed internet

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems (PMS)
